Child Development Training Consortium

What is the Child Development Training Consortium (CDTC)?

The CDTC is a statewide program funded by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD) with Federal Block Grant Child Care and Development Quality Improvement Funds. The Program is administered by the Yosemite Community College District. The program was created to address the critical shortage of qualified child care workers in the state of California. The demand for qualified workers continues to grow. The program also supports the professional growth and development of those already employed in programs for young children.

What does the CDTC provide?

The main program services the CDTC provides to eligible participants are:

1. Early Childhood Education Student Career and Education Program
This program provides stipends based on course completion and maintains a textbook loan library for specific child development courses. Access to this program is available through the CDTC Campus Coordinator at Reedley College. 2. Child Development Permit Stipend
The CDTC will pay the application processing fees to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing for ALL Child Development Permits including Program Director. In addition to first-time permits, funds are available to upgrade and renew all permits. If funds begin to run low, priority will be given to first-time permits, then upgrades and finally renewals.
