Health Notice: Measles

This notice is to create awareness of the measles virus - there are no reports of the measles on-campus. Measles is a highly contagious disease, that spreads from person to person. The risk to the general public is considered low due to the high MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Varicella) vaccination rate in our community. Those at greatest risk of contracting measles are those who have not been vaccinated. Residents should make sure they are up to date on their vaccinations, including Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccinations, especially before traveling.

If you experience symptoms of fever and rash, stay home, and isolate yourself from others. Notify your healthcare provider and follow their instructions. If you do not have a healthcare provider, contact Fresno County Dept. of Public Health at (559) 600-3200.
