The field of candidates for the position of Reedley College President has been narrowed down to two. State Center Community College District used the services of the Association of Community College Trustees to conduct a nationwide search. The process is continuing with background checks on the candidates. A screening committee reviewed applications and conducted initial interviews. Public forums will be held so that the college and community can learn more about the candidates and hear their vision for Reedley College on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 9:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Reedley College Student Center.
Donna F. Berry - Forum: 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Donna Berry has been the interim president of Reedley College since July 2018 and was vice president of administrative services at Reedley College for nearly seven years. Prior to Reedley College, she was at Porterville College for seven years where she served as director of administrative services, director of business services and information technology, foundation treasurer and adjunct instructor. She earned her MBA at University of Phoenix, her B.A. in business administration-accountancy at Fresno State and her A.A. in business administration from Porterville College.
Dr. Jerry L. Buckley - Forum: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Dr. Jerry Buckley has been the assistant superintendent/vice president of academic affairs at Santa Clarita Community College District since August 2013. He also served as vice president of instruction at San Diego Community College District and at Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District he held the positions of senior dean planning research & institutional effectiveness, acting vice president of academic affairs, dean, interim associate dean and professor. He earned his Ed.D. in educational leadership from San Diego State University, his M.A. in biology from CSU, Fullerton, his B.S. in biological sciences from USC and is a graduate of LACCD/UCLA Presidents Academy.
Candidates will present their vision for Reedley College’s future and answer pre-submitted questions. If time allows, questions from the audience will be addressed. The deadline to submit questions online is Monday, January 28, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Send questions to Sareang.Nhim@scccd.edu. Forms will be provided at the event to submit questions if time permits.
