The Reedley College Tiger Food Pantry has a new home – inside the den of the Student Center.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the pantry and Clyde’s Closet (donated business attire) was held November 2. The two resources are located in the same space. The pantry moves from a much smaller space (the concession stand near the gymnasium) to the former game room.
“This is an amazing opportunity to truly meet the basic needs of our students, supported by both our college and State Chancellor’s Office, as well as the Central California Food Bank. We are extremely grateful for everyone’s support and hard work,” said Reedley College President Dr. Jerry Buckley.
The Tiger Pantry offers non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products and fresh produce. It is available to all currently enrolled Reedley College students. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, students have utilized the pantry an average of 523 times per month.
The event was attended by students, staff, and State Center Community College District and Central California Food Bank officials. The pantry is open Mondays-Thursdays from 10am-2pm and 9am-noon every Friday.
