Graduation 101

If you expect to complete your program (degree/certificate) by the end of the 2023 Fall semester, 2024 Spring semester or 2024 Summer term, please apply for graduation by the deadlines listed below through Self Service.

Applications received after the deadline for the current semester may be held until the next semester. Please allow four (4) to eight (8) weeks for your application to be thoroughly processed.

Reedley College does not automatically award degrees. It is recommended that you meet with a Reedley College counselor to confirm your degree/certificate eligibility, before applying for your degree and/or certificate through Self Service.

If you previously attended a college that is not part of the State Center Community College District, make sure you have already transferred all coursework to Reedley College.

Deadlines to apply for Graduation

Fall - October 1
Spring - March 1
Summer - July 1

Please note: Commencement (Graduation ceremony, occurs once a year at the end of spring term).

Commencement

Applying for graduation does not confirm participation at commencement ceremonies. Once degrees are confirmed, all students will receive instructions from Admissions and Records on how to RSVP for the event.

How Do I Apply for Graduation?

Students can only apply for graduation via Self Service.
Step 1 – Log into MyPortal
Step 2 – Select “Self Service”.
Step 3 – Select "Apply for Degree/Certificate

Step 4 – Select all degrees/certificates you wish to apply for and “Submit” Note: All Reedley College program codes start with an “R.” If you select a program with a code that starts with another letter, you are not applying for a Reedley College Degree/Certificate.

If the program you wish to apply for is not listed, you will need to see a Reedley counselor.

Step 5 – Confirm your name and address and “Submit.” Your degree/certificate will be mailed to the address you enter, so please ensure it is correct.

If you are applying for more than one Degree/Certificate, repeat the process above.

What is Next?

Applications for graduation will be processed within 4 to 6 weeks. Once your degree/certificate has been evaluated by our Evaluations Staff, you will be notified of your graduation status via student email. All communication regarding graduation will be sent to your student email.

Approximately 60 to 90 days after the end of the semester, diplomas and certificates will be mailed to all graduates, free of charge. Diplomas/certificates will be mailed to the address listed on your graduation application.
