Our mission is to foster a close-knit community of passionate math and science students driven to excel academically. By joining MESA, students not only enhance their leadership skills but also achieve higher educational persistence and outcomes, laying a solid groundwork for future STEM careers.

Announcements

The Reedley College MESA Center is now open. Stop by and visit us to learn more about the MESA program. We are located in a portable in the center of campus across the large grass area near the RC library. 

Eligibility

  • Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Engineering/Physics/Computer Science/Any Calculus-based major
  • Reedley College student enrolled in at least one of their declared STEM major courses
  • Meet qualifying income levels - Any form of Financial Aid or support, Cal-Fresh, Medi-Cal
  • First generation college student (parents have not earned a bachelors or higher)
  • Intend to transfer to a four-year university
  • Pre-Calculus or above math level

MESA Requirements 

If your answers match the MESA requirements below you may be eligible for services. 

  1. Does your major require calculus? (Yes)
  2. Do you plan on transferring to a university? (Yes)
  3. Do you qualify for Financial Aid or other financial assistance? (Yes)
  4. Do your parents hold a bachelor's degree? (No)

How to apply

  1. Fill out the Mesa Interest Form
  2. Intake with MESA Director for eligibility clearance
  3. Applications being accepted for the 24-25 academic year

Program Requirements

  1. Attend MESA Orientation
  2. Attend MESA Study Sessions (Dependent on Enrolled Courses)
  3. Attend two MESA workshops an academic year
  4. Develop an Academic Success Plan with MESA Counselor
  5. Meet with the MESA Counselor three times a semester (One contact via phone call, Two contacts in person)
  6. Develop or review your Student Education Plan with MESA counselor once a semester
  7. Complete 20 hours of tutorial or study hours per semester
  8. Apply for associations or scholarships with assistance from the MESA counselor
